“Everyone wanted to be at the front in order to get on the right wheels and avoid breakages. The race was stressful from the moment we entered the circuit. The peloton didn’t completely explode in the final, but it was split up quite nicely all the same. I saw riders making an effort at the front and I followed them. I’m happy with the outcome of this race because I’m taking victory. I waited before starting my sprint, and when I made the effort it was the right moment. You have to have luck on your side on a finish like this, because the gap to the peloton is never huge. My advantage was that I came back from the back with a fair amount of speed. It was a good day for me and the Arkéa-Samsic team. This day will remain engraved in my memory for a long time to come. I’m happy with the outcome of this event because I’m taking home the victory. This race, even if it’s not my first success, always has a special flavour, but this success in Binche-Chimay-Binche will remain engraved in my memory for a long time to come”.

“As is often the case, Binche-Chimay-Binche ended in a sprint. And the victory was decided by a small group of riders who stretched out the peloton. Luca sprinted magnificently in the meantime. He stayed in the slipstream for a long time, produced his winning effort at the right moment and passed his rivals with great speed. The excellent work of each of the riders is to be commended, and once again it was a collective success. Hugo Hofstetter, Florian Dauphin and Amaury Capiot also came 9th, 13th and 18th. All of which adds to the collective significance of this success.”
