Kevin Vauquelin was on the attack in the Monts du Boulonnais stage and is now in the Tour de France white jersey and 4th overall.

Having a distinctive jersey on the Tour de France is exceptional, especially the white jersey which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It's really nice. I wasn't very well placed on the first climb, but I got back up. After that I was with the very best, but I thought why not try to anticipate. I went on the attack a number of times, but I have no regrets. My aim is still to win a stage. That was my goal, to win today and take the yellow jersey. We'll soon be arriving in my homeland, at my parents', and I really hope to have a distinctive Tour de France jersey on my back during these stages.

If someone had told us at the start of the Tour de France that we'd have a distinctive jersey on the second stage, we'd have signed up straight away. Kévin is in the white jersey this Sunday, so we're pleased. It's a good thing for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. Kévin found himself today with the riders vying for overall victory in the Tour, and he had the legs to win the stage, after beating Mathieu Van Der Poel in the sprint, which was complicated. He had to try and he did it. He had to try anyway. You have to take a step back and analyse everything, but what you have to remember is that Kévin has good legs at the moment.
