“The team did a great job today. We were all very strong in every sector. I’m happy with this podium, the two riders in front of me were simply faster. Amaury took me to the sprint and it’s a shame not to win to reward that last bit of work.”
“On paper, we had a really cohesive team, a great collective. That’s what I told them at the briefing. No race is easy to win. I had confidence in them. While others were losing ‘manpower’, we were still at full strength in the last part of the race. We tried to tighten things up on several occasions with Luca and Amaury. As for Jenthe, he was vigilant to follow all the moves, which ended in a massive sprint and a 3rd place finish that Luca and Amaury could also have achieved. This gives us great collective prospects for the next races in Belgium. This group has shown that it’s in good shape, which gives us confidence for the races ahead.”
