Famme Ardenne Classic & Binche-Chimay-Binche - Luca Mozzato : "typical Belgium races"

Arkéa-Samsic’s classics group will be taking part in the two races in Belgium.

Luca Mozzato

“I haven’t raced the Famenne Ardenne Classic yet, so it will be a first in my career. But of course, I’ve looked at the profile of this event, and for me, it will be like a small Belgian classic, a difficult race that can be contested in small groups, with a small group of riders vying for victory. On the other hand, I’m familiar with Binche-Chimay-Binche, and in this event, everything will depend on the number of sprinters involved, and the intentions of their teams, because there are ways of controlling the race in order to favour a massive finish. But there are also opportunities for movement racing, as the finish presents a slight difficulty with a cobbled climb that may allow riders with the ‘legs’ to try their luck to make the difference and thus avoid a bunch sprint”.

Arnaud Gérard, sports director

“Our group of ‘Flandriens’ and classicmen will be competing in the Famenne Ardenne Classic and Binche-Chimay-Binche. Our strengths will vary depending on the race scenarios we come up against, with strong, fast riders such as Amaury Capiot, Jenthe Biermans, David Dekker and Luca Mozzato, all in good form at the end of the season, not forgetting Hugo Hofstetter, who has just completed the Vuelta Ciclista a España. Florian Dauphin, a trainee with the team and future rider with ARKEA-B&B HOTELS, will continue his apprenticeship with the professionals by once again taking part in the Belgian calendar, which is a great training ground for young riders in terms of the experience they gain.”
