Circuit Franco-Belge - Mathis Le Berre: "I've recovered well from la Vuelta"

A historic event on the Belgian calendar, the Circuit Franco-Belge is often a success for sprinters, but it’s not the only one…

Mathis Le Berre

“I recovered well from the Vuelta Ciclista a España. I didn’t experience any major bouts of fatigue after the race. Of course I was, but normally, I think, after a three-week race. I took three days off and then resumed training with a good feeling. The Circuit Franco-Belge, which will be my comeback race, may suit me. I’ve started to study the course. There’s a short circuit and the profile is hilly and difficult. Now we’ll have to see how my body reacts, but I’m going to do everything I can to perform as well as possible for the Arkéa-Samsic team. In principle, this race should be the last one I take part in for the 2023 season.”

Sébastien Hinault, sports director

“The Circuit Franco-Belge is one of the most historic races on the Belgian calendar. It was often a sprinter who won this event. But the organisers have changed their route and made it tougher, with a finish scheduled for the Mont de l’Enclus. This difficulty will have to be climbed several times beforehand on three different slopes, which could keep most of the sprinters away. The Circuit Franco-Belge has become something of a little Flanders classic, and our main cards could be Matîs Louvel, Amaury Capiot, Élie Gesbert or even Mathis Le Berre, if he has recovered well from the Vuelta Ciclista a España”.
