Veneto Classic - Luca Mozzato : "c'est un parcours très très dur"

The Veneto Classic will be Arkéa-Samsic’s last road race of the season in Europe.

Kévin Vauquelin

“I’ve been feeling good again for a week now. I felt good on Wednesday at the Giro del Veneto. This Friday I went out to reconnoitre the Veneto Classic course. It’s very tough. In the last few kilometres, we’ll go up a cobbled hill, then take a gravel road, first uphill and then downhill. It’s going to be very tough. There are several different circuits, and inevitably victory will go to a strong rider. We’ve got a great team at the start, which has shown good form over the last few races. We want to end this season on a high together so that we can look forward to 2024 with confidence.”

Luca Mozzato

“It’s a very, very tough course! I already knew it a little bit, I watched the race closely last year and I took part in it 2 years ago, but the route was slightly different. As I’m from the Veneto region, I’ll be riding there a few times a year, so I know the roads. Sunday will be the last race of the season, so I’ll have to give it my all for the team and enjoy it. Personally, I’m bound to get that extra motivation from being at home with my family and friends at the side of the road.”

Roger Tréhin, sports director

“The Giro del Veneto showed us that this group in Italy works well. We saw Kévin Vauquelin’s renewed form and we’ll be able to count on the support of Clément Champoussin on Sunday. They will also be well supported by Simon Guglielmi, Anthony Delaplace, Jenthe Biermans, Matîs Louvel and Luca Mozzato, who will be playing on home soil. We have what it takes to do well on a demanding course with cobbles and roads. We really have what it takes to come away with a good result.”
