Sébastien Hinault: "the weather conditions could make the race tougher"

The day after Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne will be act 2 of the “opening” in Belgium. With hills, cobbles and a final section exposed to the wind, the 2024 edition could well be indecisive…

Luca Mozzato

“As with all the classics, the weather will have an influence on the race, even more so if there’s rain and wind as forecast. I don’t think anyone really likes these conditions. We’ll have to be even more attentive than usual to make sure we don’t miss out on any good moves that might come our way and put us in contention for victory. Personally, even if like a lot of other riders I prefer it when the weather’s nicer, I think I do pretty well when the weather’s fickle. We’ll see on Sunday”.

Sébastien Hinault, sports director

“We’ll have to keep a close eye on the weather on Sunday. They’re forecasting rain, wind, real flahute weather. The conditions will make the race tougher. Usually, when the conditions are right, there’s a chance of a sprint. On the other hand, we have to adapt. We have a good chance of a bunch sprint with Arnaud. And we also have other maps that can be adapted depending on the scenario”.
