La Polynormande - Anthony Delaplace: "the scenario is often unreadable"

14ème manche de la Coupe de France, La Polynormande sera l’occasion pour nos normands, Anthony Delaplace et Matîs Louvel, de courir à domicile.

“It’s a race I know by heart, I’ve only missed it a handful of times. This will be my 11th participation this year. Even though it’s a race I’m familiar with, the scenario is often unreadable. Sometimes it’s the breakaway that goes all the way, other times it’s a breakaway that comes out strongly in the final. It may also come down to a sprint in a small group. The key is to stay concentrated throughout the race and focus on the goal, because the circuit is very tiring.”

Mickaël Leveau, sports director

“After making the transition between Avranches and Saint-Martin-de-Landelles, the Polynormande becomes a very difficult circuit race, with a lot of wear and tear. Some of the sprinters who missed out last year should be keen to make up for it and ask their team-mates to control the race. For our part, we have several maps to adapt to the different scenarios that the Polynormande usually offers. It’s one of those races where you always have to be one step ahead if you hope to win.”
