“There is disappointment! I think, in fact, that Kévin Vauquelin had the legs to be part of the first group and get a good place upon arrival in Siena in this 2024 edition of the Strade Bianche. But we had bad luck in quick succession. First with Anthony Delaplace, then Kévin Vauquelin was forced to change bikes, and then he suffered a puncture. Clément Venturini also had to change bikes at the key moment of the race. Kévin Vauquelin, for his part, punctured a second time in the final, which definitively removed him from the counter group, otherwise he had the “leg” to be part of it, and in fact had his place to be in front. But we can’t repeat the race. So we leave frustrated. But these damages are part of the race, they are the Strade Bianche, we know that. Runners can be prone to punctures, unfortunately for us this happened every time during important moments of the race.”
