“I didn’t want to have any regrets about this Tour. After the Giro d’Italia, I knew that my condition would improve as the days went by. I was looking forward to this third week. I gave it my all right up to the end. I hung on as hard as I could on the last climb, but they were very strong up front. I’m back to a good level, because there’s no secret to being at the front on this stage: you had to have legs. I had a lot of fun today. I’m off to Paris to round off the month of July.”

“It was a beautiful day. We wanted to be in the breakaway. Warren was in front, and we know that he always finishes a Grand Tour strongly, so it was the case again with a great stage in which he stayed in front for a long time, without breaking down too much in the final stretch to take sixth place. Now it’s time for the final stage, where we’ll once again have our sights set on Luca Mozzato.”
