“It was a really difficult day, and I was a bit behind on the breakaway. Warren told me he didn’t have a great feeling. I tried to save myself all day. I’m really happy with this top ten finish on roads close to home, because I gave it my all on the last climb. I have no regrets, I finished in the top ten of a Tour de France stage, I couldn’t have dreamed of anything better.”
“I had a sore back after the little slide at the start of yesterday’s stage. Well done to Simon, a great hard worker who was able to take advantage of opening up the Tour route in this breakaway close to home. Now it’s time for a rest, which will do us good, and we’re back in action for Wednesday’s super stage to Courchevel. “
