Franck Renimel: “We are aiming for a good general ranking”

Three stages on the program including an individual time trial, the ARKEA B&B HOTELS women’s team will be at the start of the Vuelta Extremadura for the second consecutive year.

Maëva Squiban

“The format of the Vuelta Extremadura has changed a little, notably with a 17 km individual time trial this year which should have a greater impact on the general classification. My ambitions will be defined day by day because the level is higher this year. I would obviously like to achieve a stage victory like in 2023. My other mission will also be to help the designated leaders of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team on the mountain stage. We have the opportunity to achieve great performances on the stages. but also at the level of the general classification.

Franck Renimel, Directeur sportif

“The Vuelta Extremadura is a competition that the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team knows well having competed in it last year. We won the general individual and team classifications, but also the mountain classification. Ideally, we would like to do as well this season, although the level will be higher with the presence of two World Tour teams. We have good ARKEA-B&B HOTELS training, notably with Maëva Squiban, who won during the second stage, in 2023. She has experience of this race and stage races. Maaike Coljé also has this experience since she placed third in the general classification last year in the Vuelta Extremadura. We will aim for a good general classification, with the objective of a stage victory.”
