“I was far away at the start of the last three kilometers and as soon as we arrived on the false flat, it went up to the right. I found myself veering among the first riders in the peloton. The first thing that I told myself that I was ideally placed to avoid a break. I knew that we had to throw at 300 meters following the information that had been given to us during the briefing, with the left turn. That’s what I did. I was a little scared because behind me a fall happened. I did my best. I’m not a sprinter, 3rd c “It’s already good. I fought to the line for the bonuses.”

“The day was difficult for the runners with the rain, the cold… Afterwards it goes better when the runners walk. And the strongest are in front, which is why I had no doubt that Kevin would be. But as we announced with Mickaël Leveau: to hope to win you had to be among the first five at the red flame turn. Kévin respected the instructions. We believed in it. He did too. There is no need to be disappointed. We believes in it. Other opportunities will present themselves, and if they present themselves we will seize them. I am demanding with the riders. When we do what we did today – even if it is not a victory, mind you – that’s good. Because they did the job that was asked of them.”
