Arctic Race of Norway - Martin Tjøtta: "can't wait to start my first race with Arkéa-Samsic, specially on home soil"
Team Arkéa-Samsic is taking part in the Arctic Race of Norway this week, with young Norwegian Martin Tjøtta, a trainee and future member of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team.
“I can’t wait to discover the professional world with the Arkéa-Samsic team, for which I’ll be a trainee until the end of the season. What’s more, it’s in Norway, my home country. The Arctic Race, which I’ve always watched on television since it began, is one of the most beautiful races and I’m very excited at the idea of taking part. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the team works, the racers, the staff, and gaining experience from them for the future.”
“This year the race is heading further north. We’re likely to have even lower temperatures, which is unusual for August when you come from the Mediterranean. But I like this race, it’s one of the most beautiful on the calendar. We’re lucky as racers to be able to practice our passion in this picture-postcard setting. From a sporting point of view, we have a great team with Clément as our leader. The Arctic Race often favours explosive riders, there are a lot of bumpy finishes and we’re going to do everything we can to make him shine.”
“The Arctic Race of Norway is a race with many explosive finishes, particularly the 3rd stage, which will finish with a wall of more than 2 kilometres at 10%. Clément will be our leader and he’ll be well surrounded by riders who like these profiles, such as Louis, Michel and Alessandro. It will also be an opportunity to discover our young trainee Martin Tjotta, a future member of our ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team, who will no doubt be keen to shine on his home roads.”
