“I gained a place in the overall classification at the Tour du Poitou Charentes because the third-placed rider crashed and was forced to retire from the race. I would have preferred to have achieved this performance on the pedals, but that’s also part of the sport of cycling. In any case, I wish the rider who fell a speedy recovery. Amaury tried on the last lap of the final stage of this Tour du Poitou-Charentes, and so did Ewen, but this last day of racing in this competition isn’t usually conducive to breakaways. The week was a good one for me as an individual, but also for the team, with three riders in the top twelve overall. I came 4th. The Tour du Poitou-Charentes was part of a block of three stage races that were objectives for the second half of the season. I now have one more to go: the Tour of Luxembourg, which also includes an individual time trial. The results I achieved in Wallonia and now here in Poitou-Charentes have motivated me all the more for the race in the Grand Duchy ».
