Hubert Grygowski and Embret Svestad-Bårdseng, recruits to the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS development team

Two new recruits for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Development team: Hubert Grygowski from Poland and Embret Svestad-Bårdseng from Norway.

Embret Svestad-Bårdseng

“I’m proud and honoured to be part of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS development team because I immediately felt the scope of the project that the team wanted to put in place. I was also delighted with the individual project that was presented to me, including the expectations that the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team had of me in sporting terms. There’s a real project set up, designed for young people within this training programme, and that won me over straight away. I’m a climber, and I’m aiming for the overall rankings in stage races with difficult mountain profiles. This year I finished 8th in the Tour de l’Avenir and 14th in the Saudi Tour.

Hubert Grygowski

“I’m very happy to be joining the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. It’s a great opportunity for me because this is a ‘young’ team at UCI WorldTour level, and from next year a development structure will be attached to it, which I will be part of. We’re going to benefit from a very good calendar and a qualified staff with a wealth of experience. I’m a rouleur, but I want to work hard so that I can achieve great things in certain stage races, which is another reason why I’m going to work even harder on time trials”.

Emmanuel Hubert, General Manager

“Hubert Grygowski had his first professional season at continental level. This will undoubtedly serve him well next year. He showed great promise in the junior ranks, and he needs to resume his progression curve with us, particularly in hilly events such as the Flemish classics and cobbles. I think that this rider, if he’s at 100%, could be a very good element, who can reveal himself in races that correspond to his profile. Embret Sevstad-Bårdseng has the profile of a climber who can compete in the general classification in difficult mountainous events. He had a very promising Tour de l’Avenir this year, climbing up the general classification as the stages went by. This shows how well he can recover on what is for me the biggest U23 event on the calendar. Embret is still young, but he has already achieved some good results with the pros. At just 21, he finished 14th in this year’s Saudi Tour. We’re going to help him to make further progress, because I think that in Embret we have an up-and-coming climber with great qualities who has already established himself in the professional ranks. He can also put his experience at the service of the team by taking the whole group to the top, with a status of leader for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS development team in the general rankings of stage races, including high mountain stages”.
