Grand Prix de Fourmies - Arnaud Démare: "My first race in France with Arkéa-Samsic"

After Belgium and Germany, Arnaud Démare heads to France for the Grand Prix de Fourmies.

Arnaud Démare

Pre-race

“The Grand Prix de Fourmies will be my very first race in France in the Arkéa-Samsic jersey. It’s a historic event on the French calendar. The Hauts de France region is very important to me, because of my junior and U23 years. I love racing here, where our sport is very popular and where I’ve had a lot of success.  The outcome of the Grand Prix de Fourmies is very often a sprint. The team and I got used to each other over the first few races we contested in August, with a fine performance in Germany, and I hope we’ll be able to do better very soon”.

The Briefing

“The Grand Prix de Fourmies is a great event on the French calendar, traditionally held at the end of the season, and there’s always a good chance that it will end in a sprint. Arnaud Démare will be our leader, and he’ll be able to rely on fast men to take him along, such as David Dekker and Dan McLay, as well as Amaury Capiot, who made a more than satisfactory comeback at the Tour du Poitou-Charentes Nouvelle-Aquitaine”.
