“After a difficult time trial, I was looking forward to doing well today! I knew the stage would suit me. All day long, the pace was very fast. I was happy to be with the best on the last climb. I tried to stay in position on the descent so as not to get trapped. There are three good stages left in this Dauphiné. We’re arriving on roads that I know well in Savoie, so I’m keen to be at the front again and do even better.”
Wearing the blue jersey with white polka dots for the king of the mountain since the finish of stage 1, Donavan Grondin kept his jersey today between Cormoranche-sur-Saône and Salins-les-bains. “Since the start, I’ve been living day by day and enjoying this jersey. Tomorrow, we’ll be in the mountains, and it’s still going to be tough. But I’m going to do everything I can to try and get into the breakaway”.
