Women TeamFrench Championship - Women Road Race

Clémence Latinier, who was part of the day's breakaway, finished 6th in the women's road race of the French championships, two days after her crash in the time trial. Titia Ryo, who had a fine finish, finished in the top 10 (8th).

I said this morning at the briefing that I wanted to have no regrets and to help the team as much as possible. Today, I may not have been able to keep up with the best in a counter race, but I could have had a head start. That's what I did when I saw Marie Le Net (French champion) and Julie Bego (3rd) come out. I was thinking about riding but with the teams, it was very strategic. We were gaining time on the peloton and then losing it. Eventually, the gap grew to 4 minutes and the teams started to take turns. Before the last lap, Léa Curinier (2nd) attacked. I followed her, and then it was all over again. Marie Le Net countered and, at that point, with the efforts made just before, I wasn't in a position to make another effort. I gave it my all because we weren't far behind. I didn't finish in the top 5 but I'm satisfied with my race, especially after my crash on Thursday in the time trial. I would have liked to have done more for the ARKEA - B&B HOTELS team and put our Excalibur jersey on even more display. I'll be back.

Océane Mahé was the first of the team to attack in this French championship. She started the race for us. Our aim was to get a head start. Which was the case with Clémence at the front. It was a bit flat at the start, but then we really got going. A move was made to catch up with the frontrunners and unfortunately we weren't in it. We could have had two girls at the front and managed the race differently. Clément finished 6th. She's just joined the team. She was able to get to the front and do the job. It wasn't easy. We're proud of her attitude and her commitment. Titia Ryo came 8th. Two girls in the top 10 is a satisfying result, but we're capable of doing better.
