The debrief’

“We had two tactical options today. The first, with David Dekker in the sprint if he managed to get through the day’s difficulties, otherwise we took the option of Amaury Capiot, who is getting better and better as the season draws to a close. It was the second option that came to fruition. Alan Riou and David Dekker did a superb job to put Amaury in an ideal position for the final stage, when it became clear that he wouldn’t be able to get through the difficulties. All the team’s riders switched to the lead group as the final climb of this third stage of the Tour of Guangxi got underway. Donavan Grondin put Amaury right in the wheel of the day’s winner. The sprint then got very choppy, with Amaury being destabilised by another rider. He stayed on his bike, but we’re still wondering how. He was ideally placed to take a good place in Nanning. This sprint leaves us with a bitter taste, because our riders had done everything right. It’s also worth noting that at the end of this third stage, Louis Barré is 10th in the provisional overall classification of this Tour of Guangxi.
