Tour du Limousin : the team stregth

The defending team, Arkéa-Samsic, will be led by the 2021 winner, Warren Barguil.

“I am happy to ride the Tour du Limousin 2022, an event that brought me so much last year. I am motivated as I am every time I take part in a competition. I have worked hard in training but the only judge of peace is the competition, this event is the second one I will ride after the Polynormande. I will take the stages day by day with ambition and we will see as the race progresses what attitude to have. I am a rider who also knows how to play the collective card and the team Arkéa-Samsic will have on this Tour du Limousin can have great ambitions.”

“I have not ridden the Tour du Limousin very often, and this year will be my third participation in this event. I have good memories of the 2021 edition with Warren, it was great to be able to live those moments with him. This race is always difficult because of the course, the roads that don’t give too much back and the heterogeneous level within the peloton between riders who come out of the Tour de France in good condition and others in recovery. It is always physical, even more so with the current high temperatures. This competition requires a lot of concentration, the race can be lost at any second. We with Warren who is one of the best on such courses, we will do everything to shine.”

Arnaud Gérard, sport director

“The Tour du Limousin is always a very demanding race. We experienced it last year, the victory can be decided by seconds and bonifications, which was the case for Warren. It’s a competition that requires concentration every day and that you have to be on the right track from the first stages. The courses are difficult with an alternation of big and small roads. The heat can also have an influence, so we will have to be very solid to get a result, which we obviously hope to achieve.”
