“The cold two days in a row played a decisive role, and in fact it probably made the race a little less rhythmic. The final part of the race was special, the tempo was high on the last climb, but not enough. The legs were hard because of the rain of the day before and the cold, but above all there is a confusion, for us and for many runners. Indeed we could not see the red flame with the thick fog that was on the finish site. We could not defend our chances Elijah and me. It’s annoying because we didn’t lose on the pedal, but because we didn’t see the last kilometers go by. It’s a real shame because I think I was one of the fastest riders in the group that was coming for the win. The race was not very eventful. I tried to dynamite it with 50 kilometers to go, but unfortunately no other rider wanted to continue the offensive movement I tried to initiate. It was a real shame”.

“The result is not up to our expectations. There was very little racing on this Tour du Doubs. This course was the least difficult of the three that were offered here. The riders did not see the red flame, and in the fog they were surprised by the proximity of the finish. Nevertheless, over the three days spent in Eastern France, our riders arrived each time for the win. The Arkéa-Samsic team showed a good sense of teamwork and cohesion.”
