Renewi Tour - Dan McLay: "get a stage win together"
On Wednesday, the Arkéa-Samsic team will be taking part for the first time in the Renewi Tour, otherwise known as the Tour of Benelux.
“We’ve got a big week ahead of us in Belgium and the Netherlands, with stages for sprinters and classicmen. We’ve got Arnaud and Matîs around us who are comfortable on this terrain. As far as I’m concerned, I had to skip the Tour of Leuven because I was a bit feverish. I started again in Hamburg, which allowed me to get back on track and get the machine going again. Above all, I’ll be at the service of the team and Arnaud as he prepares for his sprint, so that we can work on our automatisms and go for a stage win together.”
“We have several stages promised to the sprinters in this Tour of the Benelux. Arnaud has just taken a good 4th place in Hamburg and shows that he’s in good shape. Going for a stage win will be our priority over these five days. The other two stages, a time trial and a stage with the Mur de Grammont-Bosberg link, will be crucial for the overall classification. We’ll be able to count on Matîs to express himself, without ruling out the idea that Arnaud also has a real chance of doing well.”
