Medical report concerning Florian Sénéchal
This Saturday, 25km from the finish of the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Florian Sénéchal was caught up in a mass crash and was unable to restart, suffering from a fractured right collarbone. Examinations at the hospital in Aalst, Belgium, revealed a fracture of the right clavicle. Florian will undergo surgery shortly. You will be informed at a later date how long he will be out of action.

“The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad remains the opening race in Belgium.It’s nervous and fast-paced.Lidl Trek and Visma Lease a Bike were quick to initiate a move on the edge of the pack, but it never settled down after that.It was a rider from the peloton who won. The outnumbered Visma mbo Lease a Bike won. For the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, we had three good contenders in Amaury Capiot, Jenthe Biermans and Florian Sénéchal. The latter fell and unfortunately got in the way of Amaury, who was unable to get through. The only rider left in the final was Jenthe, who came 17th. It’s a shame, because I think we could have done a lot better”.
