Maëva Squiban: "we can
The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS women’s team will be at the start of the Vuelta CV Feminas this Sunday. The team will then follow up with a week’s training in Denia, Spain (5-12 February).
“I’ve already taken part in the Vuelta CV Feminas in 2022. The route was different from the 2024 edition. This year it’s more difficult, with a decisive second pass of 5km at an average gradient of 9%. It’s a race that could suit me if I find myself in a small group at the end of the last climb. If not, we’ll be in a sprint with Emilia and Marie-Morgane. I’m feeling pretty good, training’s gone well over the last few weeks. We’ve got a good chance of doing well, just as we did in our first races, where we all got on really well.”
“The Vuelta Feminas takes place around Valencia over a distance of more than ninety-three kilometers. There is an ascent after twenty kilometers, but the decisive part of the race is after the fortieth kilometer, with a five-kilometer bump at 9% average. The forty kilometers back to Valencia are a mix of descents and flat sections. Our squad is made up for this race of girls with climbing and sprinting qualities, depending on the scenario we will see who will be favored. The goal is to continue to work collectively because this is how we will continue to achieve results. We then continue with a one-week internship in Spain in Denia (from February 5 to 12).”
