Grand Prix de Wallonie - Luca Mozzato: "The finish is tough, technical and cobbled".

The Grand Prix de Wallonie is a selective race, with a number of climbs, which finishes at the summit of the Citadelle of Namur, where the sprinters often have the right to make their mark.

Luca Mozzato

Pre-race

“The Grand Prix de Wallonie is a great race to kick off the last competitive block of the season. I took a short break after the Tour du Limousin to focus on my training ahead of the last few important races. The Grand Prix de Wallonie is a tough race, with the finish at the top of the Citadelle. It’s tough, technical and the climb is cobbled. We’re going into this race with a great team, and our aim will be to get the best possible result”.

The briefing

“The Grand Prix de Wallonie is usually a sprint race, with a small and very stretched peloton on the final climb to the Citadelle of Namur. But this scenario is not set in stone. That’s why the line-up presented by Team Arkéa-Samsic at the start of this race has been put together so as to be able to respond to different strategies, while favouring fast riders capable of expressing their speed on a bumpy finish, such as Arnaud Démare and Luca Mozzato. Maxime Bouet will take on the role of road captain for this event, while Ewen Costiou looks back on this competition, which enabled him to shine in the spotlight last year.
