Gaël Le Bellec joins the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Women team
Gaël Le Bellec joins the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS women’s team as sports director.
“I have been working in women’s cycling since 2012. I know all areas relating to women’s cycling activity, from amateurs with many years spent with Breizh Ladies in Brittany, but also among professionals since I worked at within two structures at this level, Charente maritime team and Cofidis Femmes, a project that I set up from start to finish. The one that was presented to me for ARKEA-B&B HOTELS very quickly attracted me due to the common desire of Emmanuel Hubert and Jean-Christophe Moussard to develop women’s training, initially towards the ProTeam level, then WorldTour, as was the case with the boys. Performance is at the center of the discourse put forward at ARKEA -B&B HOTELS, with a fundamental element that allows it to be achieved: placing people at the heart of this search for success. Emmanuel Hubert contacted me very quickly during the winter, I quickly replied “that I was interested, but that I needed a little time before committing”. He told me, “take the time you need, we will wait for you.” This mark of trust, this sense of listening on the part of a Manager definitely appealed to me. We will work in pairs with Grégoire Le Calvé whom I know well, we have a common experience, and we will put this at the service of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team and our runners.”
“The arrival of Gaël Le Bellec as sports director within the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will constitute an important asset in our approach to growing and evolving this structure. Gaël will form an effective and complementary pair with Grégoire Le Calvé. Their mission will be to advance this group on a sporting level in order to enable it to access ProSeries status in 2025, then in the future to integrate the Women’s WorldTour. Gaël has a perfect knowledge of women’s cycling in both the amateur and professional world, which means that he will already be able to prospect with a view to our 2025 recruitment. Women’s cycling is in full expansion and my desire as Manager General of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS teams is to give opportunities to women cyclists so that they can reach the highest sporting level, a philosophy that I share with my partners, ARKEA and B&B HOTELS.”
