Yvon Caër: "Not a good day"

Despite a violent crash in the final of the Nîmes-Carcassonne stage, Nacer Bouhanni finished 11th of this 13th stage. Warren Barguil also went down at the same time as Nacer. Nairo keeps his polka dot jersey.

On the line..

“This stage, which was promised to the sprinters, had been marked by the Arkéa-Samsic team and Nacer. But unfortunately for us as well as for him, he fell with Warren in the final on a gravelly descent. Tomorrow’s race will give out more points than in the last few days for the mountain classification, the objective will be to consolidate my polka dot jersey”.

The débrief’

” This stage Nîmes-Carcassonne was marked by a violent crash in its final part. The race has been very nervous since the start in Brest, the riders fell downhill, in a bend where there were gravels on the roadside. It was like it has been since the beginning of the race, one rider went down and all the others piled up afterwards, it was a tangle of bikes. Nacer and Warren were hit for the Arkéa-Samsic team heavily. They managed to get back into the peloton, but they are well hit. It’s not a good day for us today…”.
