Race report with Sébastien Hinaukt

Sports director for the Flanders campaign, Sébastien Hinault looks back at the 121st edition of Paris-Roubaix.

Sébastien Hinault, sports director

“There’s bound to be a feeling of frustration, as we’ve been used to some fine performances of late. All the same, we had a great campaign of cobbled classics. Jenthe Biermans and Florian Sénéchal had the legs to get to the front, but it wasn’t a big deal for them to get into the first kerb. Once that gap had been taken by the riders in front, we were always in the chase. Jenthe came home in 23rd place, proving that he was on the move. Florian took a gamble on Paris-Roubaix after breaking his collarbone in Het Nieuwsblad and he succeeded. He would have been delighted if it hadn’t been for the material problems that can occur in a race like Paris-Roubaix. Luca Mozzato has put in a lot of hard work over the last three weeks. He was a bit tired today. Nevertheless, we can draw a more than satisfactory conclusion to this Flandriennes 2024 campaign.”
