Pierre Thierry: "the race I dreamt of when I was a child"
The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team will be competing in the Tour de Bretagne from 25 April to 1 May. The first for Emmanuel Hubert’s continental tem.
“The Tour de Bretagne is obviously a race that means a lot to a rider from this region. When I was younger, it was the race that made me dream because it was, in a way, “my mini Tour de France”, which took place every year close to home. I took part in the Tour de Bretagne for the first time last year in the amateur ranks, and I finished second in Plumelec. I know the stages well, and I’ve recognised some of them that pass close to where I live. Another passes five kilometres from my parents’ home. We’ll obviously want to succeed. The aim will be to show the colours of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team on home soil, and demonstrate our strength and cohesion. I’d really like to do well in this race, which is very close to my heart, with multiple objectives. The overall classification could come down to the final stage in Dinan, which is very difficult. It’s really a race that demands concentration and commitment on each of the stages that we’ll be competing in”.
“The Tour de Bretagne is bound to have a special flavour for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team, not only because it’s a class 2 event, but above all because it takes place on our home turf. We’ll be racing at home, in front of our supporters, and we’ll be eagerly awaited. We’ll be going into this race with ambitions. The best continental teams will be there, and there will also be competition from the Breton DNs. It’s likely to be some great races on each stage. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will be homogeneous and will perform well in this great event on the French and Breton calendar”
