Michaela Drummond: “My ambitions are double for my first race”

Michaela Drummond will do her first race with the ARKEA B&B HOTELS team at Ghent-Wevelgem.

Michaela Drummond

“I am happy to start competitions with the ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team. I did a good block on the track at the start of the season and I feel in good shape. I can’t wait to seize the opportunities and challenges that await us. For my first race with the team, my ambitions are twofold. First of all, I would like to establish strong links with my teammates. Secondly, I would like to contribute to the success of the collective by having a positive impact on our performance. Ghent-Wevelgem has a particular attraction for cyclists and, although I have never had the opportunity to participate before, I am looking forward to the experience and showing my abilities alongside my teammates. “

Grégoire Le Calvé, Direcrteur sportif

“Ghent-Wevelgem, Sunday, will mark the start of a cycle of Belgian classics for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. Michaela Drummond will do her first races with us. We will continue after Sunday with Across Flanders. The proposed routes are in the content identical to the men with flat and narrow roads, succession of mountains, roads open to the wind, which ultimately makes these events very nervous. The 2024 edition of Ghent-Wevelgem offers 170 km, which is quite rare for the women’s peloton. It is undoubtedly this distance which will make the difference at the end of the race.”
