Mathis Le Berre: “A race that I competed in among the cadets”

Mathis Le Berre will discover this season alongside Luca Mozzato, Vicenzo Albanese, Amaury Capiot and Clément Venturini his very first professional “Tro Bro Leon”. Also note that the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, to celebrate the 20 years of existence of Emmanuel Hubert’s team within the professional peloton, will race with a white and black collector’s “Excalibur” jersey.

Mathis Le Berre

“I competed in the Tro Bro Léon as a cadet, and we borrowed the ribinou. This competition is a very beautiful Breton classic which has managed to weave its history over forty years of existence. It has become a benchmark event, and the desire to do well will drive us on Sunday. We, the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, will have the desire to shine on our land, in front of our supporters. We know that the race will be tough and that anything can happen in such an atypical event due to its layout. The best way to run will be to move forward, even anticipating this can be good. In any case, we will have beautiful cards. The weather can make the race even more difficult. I’m really looking forward to starting my very first professional Tro Bro Léon with the white and black “Excalibur” collector’s jersey created for the twenty years of Emmanuel Hubert’s team. This jersey also embodies our regional flag, in a way.”

Luca Mozzato

“The Tro Bro Leon will be my second race after my recovery following the classic campaign. The objective will be to do the best on an individual level. In any case, we will have a solid collective on this Breton classic which can legitimately fuel ambitions. We will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of Emmanuel Hubert’s team, running on Sunday on the grounds of ARKEA and B&B HOTELS, with a white and black “Excalibur” collector’s jersey. All this demonstrates the importance of this test for ARKEA-B&B HOTELS training. The race will be difficult like all years, it will be necessary to overcome the difficulties which may be linked to this event which takes paths, but above all to have an offensive racing attitude, to be in front. This will be the key to success, and in the end it will be the legs that do the talking. Because even if there is not a big difference in altitude on the Tro Bro Leon it is still a test which is done by elimination. I hope to be able to achieve a good result for the benefit of the team, and if it is not me who achieves it, one of my teammates involved in this event can achieve it. The goal will really be to highlight the collective to make the white and black colors shine, for the occasion, of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.”

Arnaud Gérard, Directeur sportif

“I think there is no point in emphasizing the importance of races in Brittany for training like ARKEA-B&B HOTELS! All the events that take place on our territory are in a way, to use a collective sport expression, “our home matches”. The Tro Bro Leon is undoubtedly a little more so than the others due to the fact that this event takes root in the department of our two title partners, ARKEA and B&B HOTELS, Finistère. Every year we feel the motivation of our runners at the start of this atypical race which is so difficult to master due to the mix it offers between paths and asphalt roads. This adrenaline rush also pushes all the staff. It’s Tro Bro Leon Day! This year we will also be lining up at the start with a collector’s “Excalibur” jersey, white and black, which is reminiscent of the famous Gwan Ha Du so dear to Bretons.
