“It was a weekend of recovery for me after the Tour of Catalonia. It was a difficult day with winding roads. You always had to be on your guard. It wasn’t easy and the finish on Mont Poupet was intense. There were a lot of attacks. At the end, I was a bit on the limit and I didn’t have enough to keep up with the leaders and challenge for the podium”.
“We decided to go on the offensive. That’s what we achieved with Louis Rouland and Kévin Ledanois, who were in the day’s breakaway. At the foot of the last climb, we had four riders left to challenge for the podium. It all came down to pedalling. Cristián Rodríguez was 9th. All in all, we’re where we should be for the day. Louis Rouland had a great day and the ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team worked hard to get to the front.”
