“I am happy with this 7th place obtained at the top of Port Ainé. Being alongside the best climbers in this event required a big commitment from me but also provides me with great satisfaction. Given the high level there is in this 2024 Tour of Catalonia, I am happy to have competed in the race in the lead with the very best. I tried to enjoy it as much as possible, although obviously it was difficult, because it was going very fast on the climb to Port Ainé. After three stages, I occupy 12th place in the provisional general classification. I will continue in this dynamic to secure the best place in the final general classification of this Tour of Catalonia 2024. I would like to thank all my teammates from the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team for their preparation work, and placement for me before the final climb of this stage”.

Roger Tréhin, Directeur sportif

“Cristián confirmed his good condition in this Tour of Catalonia. He was in contact with the best climbers who were in the group behind the winner of the day, Tadej Pogacar, throughout the ascent of Port Ainé. Cristián is in the top 7 at the finish of this second mountain stage. All the riders of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team did the work required to position their leader and shelter him when necessary. The objective is for Cristián to continue to be consistent until Sunday and the arrival in Montjuic. He is 12th overall, and we do not despair that he will gain a few more places by the end of this event.”
