Clément Russo: "I'm starting again with desire and motivation”

Clément Russo will restart at Arctic of Norway 2021.

Pre-race

“I cut two weeks off following my retirement from the Tour de France, because the pain in my ribs was still present. Nevertheless, I was able to resume training ten days ago. It was a bit difficult at the beginning because of the pain that was still present, but then it got better and better. I started training properly again after a week. Then I had no more discomfort with my two broken ribs. I’m back in competition with desire and motivation. I am happy to be back on the track, and the 2021 season is still long. I hope to achieve great things, I am really looking forward to the atmosphere of the Arctic Race of Norway and to put a number on my Arkéa-Samsic jersey”.

“I started riding again a few days after my retirement from the Tour de France, and then competed this weekend in the Clasica San Sebastian, a World-Tour event. It wasn’t easy, but apart from the fact that it allowed me to find my rhythm again in the race, it also launched me towards the Arctic Race of Norway. There will have been a summit finish in Norway and I will see how my sensations evolve as the stages go by. If there is an opportunity, I will take it. I also have specific objectives for the end of the season, especially in the one-day races”.

The Briefing

“Team Arkéa-Samsic is going to the 2021 Arctic Race of Norway with the ambition of doing well. The season is far from over. We have a roadmap with objectives to be met throughout the year. This event is one of them. I therefore expect the group to be in a conquering state of mind, with riders who are aware of the challenges and ready to give 300% in this event as in the others to follow».
