Clément Champoussin : "more than 3000 meters of elevation gain"

The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will be built around climbers-puncheurs in Spain. Jean-Loup Fayolle will be racing for the UCI World Tour for the first time.

“The Gran Premio Miguel Indurain is a competition I’ve already competed in three times. I know this event well, and I’ve already placed in it. It’s a race that I like, and I’ll be doing quite a bit between the end of March and April, so I hope to be there for these objectives. I’m feeling good, now it’s just a question of validating all that in competition. The course of the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain is very hilly with over 3000 metres of elevation gain, with quite a few short, steep climbs at the top, as I like to do. So I’m hoping to pick up a good result here in Navarre”.

Arnaud Gérard, directeur sportif

“The Gran Premio Miguel Indurain is a classic in the Spanish calendar. It’s an event that suits climbers-puncturers, which is why we’ve entered Cristián Rodríguez, who is coming off a good Tour of Catalonia. He will be joined by Clément Champoussin, who has already achieved good results in the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain, and Louis Barré. It’s also worth noting that this will be Jean-Loup Fayolle’s very first in the UCI World Tour ARKEA-B&B HOTELS jersey”.
