It was a tough race with lots of attacks in the final. I don't necessarily like this finish with the three hundred metre bend, but I managed to win here at Paris-Chauny. I've been thinking about this race for a long time, and now I've finally won, on home soil in front of my family. It's never easy to win at home, in the presence of your family and friends, and now it's done. It was also my 97th career win. I'd like to thank my team-mates who did a superb job for me. I knew I shouldn't veer too far, I came out of the corner in fourth-fifth position, and I launched from a long way back. I felt I could do it, and on a tiring day like this, the finish was in my favour. It feels good to win, I've got three races between Friday, today and Wednesday again in Belgium, and I was desperate to win one of them. Now I've done it, and it's good for morale. I'd like to take my hat off to the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, who managed all the strategic sectors of this Paris-Chauny race.
