The Breton even battled it out with the very best in this time trial and finished just a few seconds off the podium.

I am very satisfied with my performance in this fourth stage of the Tour of Luxembourg, an individual time trial covering more than 26 kilometers around Niederanven. I finished not far from third place, but let's just say that some “chocolate medals” taste better than others (laughs!). This was a race I was determined to do well in. As soon as I saw the profile, I knew it would suit me perfectly because it was very hilly. You had to use your power and manage your effort well. It's the kind of course I really enjoy. It wasn't easy for me after the French Time Trial Championships, and then I tested positive for Covid after Plouay. The road was full of obstacles, but I didn't give up, which makes me proud of this performance. Now there are still some great races to compete in between now and the end of the season, and some great goals to achieve with the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.

Thibault Guernalec achieved an impressive individual time. Considering the list of participants in this Tour of Luxembourg, finishing fourth in this fourth stage, just a few seconds off the podium, is a great result. Only Ethan Either dominated the “return” leg of this time trial, gaining thirty seconds between the last intermediate point and the finish line. That's huge. Thibault achieved a superb time both technically and in terms of managing his effort, and his 4th place boosts the morale of the entire ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, riders and staff, here in Luxembourg. This bodes well for a very successful European Team Relay Championships, wearing the French team jersey, in a few weeks' time in France.
