Amaury Capiot comes back to racing

Amaury Capiot, who hasn't raced since crashing out on stage 14 of the Tour de France, is back in action this Saturday at the Super 8 Classic.

I'm very happy to be putting a number back on my ARKEA-B&B HOTELS jersey, especially for the Super 8 Classic, which is taking place in Belgium. It's a very difficult event. A lot of people think this competition is ‘fairly easy’, but for me, it's not as easy as it looks on paper. Above all, the circuit is designed around the one used by the Flèche Brabançonne, with the addition of a few cobbled climbs. I'm not 100% fit yet, even though I've been working hard to get back into racing as soon as possible. I've got a good feeling in training, but the race will be an eye-opener. I know it's going to be tough for my first race, and I hope that as a team, the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will put in a good performance in this Super 8 Classic.

Formerly the Primus Classic, the Super 8 Classic takes in some of Belgium's cobbled hills, such as Moskestraat and the Smeysberg. It's a tough race that can crown a sprinter, but also a puncheur with great speed, as was the case last year, with a small finish. In any case, the terrain is ideal for racing and creating movement. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team taking part in this event will include a former winner in Florian Sénéchal. The red and black team taking part in this semi-classic race is made up of riders with considerable experience of this type of event, including Vincenzo Albanese, Jenthe Biermans, Matîs Louvel, Mathis Le Berre and Clément Venturini. This event will also mark the comeback of Amaury Capiot, who hasn't raced since crashing at the finish of stage 14 of the Tour de France.
