All the best sprinters were at the start of this race. The first part was hilly and lively, and the last 120 kilometers were flat, with a final urban circuit in Munster, featuring a cobbled section and light rain that fell during the final stretch. The finish was eventful, with several crashes that broke the peloton into several pieces. Florian and Pierre were hampered by these incidents. They managed to rejoin the peloton but were unable to get involved in the final sprint. Luca Mozzato unfortunately chose the wrong side, and the gap closed in front of him. He was unable to make his move.
