Kévin Vauquelin and Clément Venturini took second and third place respectively on Saturday in the Grand Prix du Morbihan, the third act of this ‘Semaine Bretonne’. Clément Venturini is now leader of the French Cup.

With Clément Venturini, we're second and third. It's good for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, but we were here to win. I had victory in my legs, but there was a movement in the race. I'm a Movistar rider, but he gets stuck. This forced me to brake and I went over to the right. I then saw Benoit Cosnefroy (winner of the Grand Prix du Morbihan) pass me with more speed. That leaves me with some regrets, especially about the way I finished, because I was coming back well. I don't know if I could have won, but maybe I could have been closer to Benoit Cosnefroy. Clément was strong. He launched from a long way out in the wind and came third. Even though we're disappointed because we were aiming for victory, the team is on a good run and this podium is a positive note for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team ahead of Sunday's Tro Bro Léon, which will be a completely different race.

Today at the Grand Prix du Morbihan, Kévin Vauquelin and I, as well as the whole ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, legitimately had big ambitions. Second and third are good for the team and the team as a whole. But we missed out on winning. We run to win and we're legitimately disappointed. Maybe I'm launching a bit early, but I'm often told that I wait too long. In the final, I thought about my wife, my son, my coach and all the efforts we put in every day. I saw Benoit Cosnefroy pass me with Kévin in his wheel. At that moment, I realised that victory was slipping away from us. It's frustrating, but for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, on home soil in Brittany, it's a great performance.

There's always a touch of disappointment when you don't win. In the final, Kévin Vauquelin was slowed down when he launched. Now we don't know if he would have won, but maybe that could have changed the situation. We had decided to make the race harder in order to make the team-mates of the puncheurs and as many sprinters as possible fold. We knew that Benoit Cosnefroy was one of the favourites, which is why we were in his wheel. We would have liked to have made the race harder in the final. We finished second and third, which is good for the team, but we're still missing out on victory.
