Kévin Vauquelin and the red-and-black ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team had a puncture and then got stuck in the kerbs, but they managed to put things right.

There's no such thing as an ‘easy’ day on the Tour. A crash at the start of the stage disrupted the peloton, and that broke up the peloton. And when I get back to the front, I feel I've got a puncture. I changed bikes as quickly as I could, but by then there were some curbs. I was in the last one. Once again, my team-mates did an extraordinary job. They all gathered around me, and together we climbed back up and managed to get back into the peloton. I'd like to thank them for that. Once again, they did a fantastic job. We worked hard, but then things settled down in the peloton. There are no transition stages on this Tour de France, because everyone's defending their interests on a daily basis, so it's normal for things to go fast

Kévin Vauquelin is still 5th in the provisional overall classification on the eve of the second rest day of this Tour de France. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team remains united around him, as we saw again today on the Muret-Carcassonne stage. Kévin had a puncture, and the situation was handled as it should have been by the sports management and his team-mates. Our leader gives his all, respecting the work of his colleagues and the staff. We're still in the game ahead of the 3rd week of the Tour de France, with three big mountain stages looming. We're continuing to take these stages one after the other. But now it's time for a well-deserved one-day rest
