Team ARKEA-B&B HOTELS scored its 8th success of the season for the WorldTour structure with Raul Garcia Pierna on the Route d'Occitanie time trial. Cristián Rodriguez was 2nd.

It's always good to win time trials when you're a specialist in the discipline. What's more, I won the first stage of the Tour d'Occitanie, and I also took the leader's jersey. That's what I've been working for. Today, I can see that what I did during the altitude training course has paid off. I won my first race in the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS jersey, and Cristián came 2nd. It was a great day for us. The course was difficult and you always had to be at your best. I love that kind of effort. I'm happy for myself and the whole ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.

This time trial was ridden ‘on the leg’ on a difficult course. A superb performance from Cristián, who is not a specialist but who nevertheless took a very fine second place. He's in good form and put in a fine performance, particularly on the bump that was part of the course. Raùl confirmed his qualities in this type of exercise, not forgetting that he has already been crowned Spanish time trial champion. This was his first success in the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Excalibur jersey. He was the favourite, and the race wasn't as easy as all that, but Raùl was able to assume his status.
