Ewen Costiou: ‘A tougher course’

Ewen Costiou, recent winner of the Tour du Limousin, will compete in the Bretagne Classic for the third time in his career this Sunday. The route of the race has been changed and made more difficult than in previous years.

I have already competed in the Bretagne Classic twice, in 2023 during my first season as a professional, and again in 2024. I will be racing on the roads of the Bretagne Classic once more this season. This year's edition features a different route from previous years. The route is much more difficult. We will have to stay focused all day long because we will be riding on very small roads, so positioning will be crucial. But that also means it will be a very energy-intensive day. The weather forecast is quite unpredictable. We'll be racing on home turf, and we've been on a good run of results since Kévin Vauquelin's Tour de Suisse, so we'll obviously be motivated to do well at home. We know we'll need to be strong, and I repeat, very focused throughout the day.

The Bretagne Classic lives up to its name. It is a Breton race that takes place on our home turf. Part of the World Tour calendar, it offers fierce competition but remains wide open. The results of previous years have proven this. And it is not always the number one favourite who wins. Some have managed to defy the odds. We will be part of this dynamic. Ewen Costiou, recent winner of the Tour du Limousin, will be our leader. He is confident. He will be riding on some of his training roads with a route that suits him. We have real ambitions and the entire ARKEA - B&B HOTELS team, in front of their supporters, is keen to fly the flag for the team and its title partners. We are all determined. Alongside Ewen, we will be counting on a united team, including Clément Venturini, who could also come out on top in the event of a small group finish.
