Ewen Costiou, who broke away for much of the 20th stage of the Tour de France, finished 12th in Pontarlier.

There was another big breakaway and the weather conditions quickly deteriorated again. I followed the moves from the start because I really wanted to be at the front. I found myself in a breakaway with Wellens and Jorgenson, and we rode flat out. I think I used up a lot of energy and in the end I paid for the efforts of the previous days. The goal today was to consolidate our team classification. We are 4th and the top French team. We are proud of this classification. I feel like I'm finishing this Tour de France well, even though I was a little tired at the end of the stage. This is my second Grand Tour, and like the first one, I can see that I recover very well in the third week. I've also learned a lot alongside Kévin Vauquelin. It's enriching to have this experience and it's just extraordinary. We get on really well, and I like to push myself for him. He pushes us to be better, and we push him to be better.

This stage was once again run in difficult conditions, but once again the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team rose to the challenge. Ben Healy tried several times, but we never faltered. Ewen went on the breakaway right from the start with some strong riders. He learned a lot on this day, and that experience will serve him well going forward. His day at the front allowed us to consolidate our lead in the team classification. We are still 4th tonight, and the top French team in this Tour de France. This may seem trivial to some, but for us it is very important. We are proud of it. Kévin managed his day well. He knows the climb up Rue Lepic on Sunday. It's a climb for puncheurs. There is no doubt that he and his teammates want to finish this Tour as it began. We also have a big thought for our female riders who are starting their Tour de France from our home region of Brittany. The Tour of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team boys will inspire them.
