In a sprint finish on the Boulevard des Championnats du Monde, Emmanuel Houcou came second in the Grand Prix de Plouay Élites.

From a personal point of view, it was a physically difficult day. I spent the whole week on the Tour Poitou-Charentes and I could feel the four days of racing in my legs. I was a little tired, but I managed to keep a low profile at the start of the race. As the laps went by, things got better and better. In the final, Rémi Lelandais did a tremendous job for me. I was able to sprint the way I wanted to. I was just beaten by someone stronger today. There is disappointment, but also positives to take away. We will now focus on future goals.

We are disappointed, of course. We wanted to win and we had the team to do it. The lads were exemplary today. They have nothing to reproach themselves for. Our aim was to make a strong start to the race. All the riders were in the leading group. Then they managed the race and played their cards right in the final. That's what Rémi, Jean-Loup and Swann did so well. In the last lap, they played the Emmanuel card and they were flawless. We were simply beaten by a stronger team. I'm proud of the team.
