Raúl García Pierna is looking forward to returning to the Tour de la Provence, a race in which he finished on the podium in 2024.

The Tour de la Provence is a great route for us. The first stage is a little harder than last year, but it's almost a stage for sprinters. The second is identical to 2024. It's tough, and a small group could win. The element that can change the scenario is the weather: if it rains, if it's cold, as was the case last year. A small group in 2024 arrived for the win, and the general classification began to take shape there. The third stage is the easiest on paper, but everything will depend on the wind, and so here again, on the possibilities for tackles. It's less hilly but still important for the overall classification. There will be a fine ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team lining up for the Tour de la Provence, with Ewen and myself. We were both at a good level in Mallorca. The aim will be to achieve a good overall classification for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, but to do that we'll have to be vigilant over the three days, because all the stages can be tricky.

The Tour de la Provence is a great event on the French professional calendar at the start of the season. This year it will take place over three stages in a region that I know well. It's an event I've competed in many times as a rider. The first stage, which will start in Marseille and finish in Saint Victor, will take in three passes, including the Espigoulier. The second day will also be hilly, with the Aire dei Masco pass in particular. The last day should be more suited to sprinters. Raul Garcia-Pierna, who finished third in last year's overall classification, is looking back on a race that suits his racing qualities, as is Ewen Costiou, who will also be one of our key cards. The weather is a factor to be taken into account, with the possibility of eddies, which can inevitably influence the scenario of the competition.
