“I am happy to be back on the Strade Bianche, I haven’t raced it for a few years. It’s a very nice race that has become a real classic of the calendar, almost a monument, and I like it because of the Tuscan roads that we ride on. I have a good form at the moment and I hope to be present in the final of this World-Tour race in order to get a good place in Siena, around the top 10”.

“I have only ridden the Strade Bianche once since the beginning of my career, but I have very good memories of it, it is a very beautiful race. There are a lot of tracks and coming from the cyclo-cross school, I appreciate that. After that, it is also a very hilly race, my condition is good and I hope to be in front and to get a good result. Warren will also be present in this race, which he enjoys, so my goal will also be to support him and to go as far as possible so that team Arkéa-Samsic can get an excellent result. We are in good shape and in a good performance cycle, it’s up to us to keep it going.

The briefing

“The Strade Bianche is an atypical race, the first one to introduce dirt roads in Italy and which took over the principle of the Tro Bro Léon, and since then many organisers have followed the example of the Breton and transalpine races. It is of course necessary to be placed in this competition, especially in the key sectors. But it is also a physical race, hilly with a very dense final in Siena. The race is not long in terms of mileage, but it takes a lot out of the riders’ bodies. You also have to know how to ride your bike well.
