“A large group came out at the start of the stage, and the agreement was not perfect, particularly when it came to opening up gaps in the valleys. The day was long and really hard, and in the end everyone was at the end of their rope. his strengths There were too many different interests. After the Mortirolo is a legendary mountain pass in cycling, and it’s always good to be at the front in a breakaway in a race like the Giro d’Italia.”

Mickaël Leveau, Directeur sportif

“We ran perfectly today, only moving on the first climb. We had Michel and Ewen in the big group at the front. It was such a difficult race that was done on the pedals. Michel went far away in a group of around fifteen runners We are in our place, on the descent of Mortirolo, Jenthe Biermans went off the road and fell into a ravine. Luckily, he was in the same group. Alessandro Verre who immediately warned us that he had fallen. I went to look for Jenthe ten or fifteen meters below, among the branches and trees. It’s miraculous that he didn’t get hurt more than that. The X-rays did not detect any fractures in the pelvis or back. Our runners have all finished and there will be seven of us again on Tuesday after the rest day, that’s the main thing.”
