“The aim of the day was to get out in front and try to win the first polka dot jersey of the race. Unfortunately, I was a bit off the pace. I gave it a go and reassured myself. That had the merit of making the other sprinters’ teams work so that we could concentrate on Clément Venturini and Florian Sénéchal. At the finish, we took 4th place and I think it was a good day for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.”

Sébastien Hinault, sports director

“We didn’t want to have any regrets, that’s what we told ourselves this morning. We were expecting to see more people in the breakaway because the sprinter field wasn’t that dense. The aim of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team here is to win a stage, but we’re not the fastest and that’s why Mathis Le Berre was in the lead. In the final sprint, Florian Sénéchal was heckled a little at the flamme rouge. Clément Venturini, who was designated to launch him, had the foresight to make the sprint and 4th place is a pretty good result. We’re trying, we’re moving forward, we’re trying to put things in place, it’s positive and it bodes well for the future.”
